I have been playing with Skoom as a GM for nearly thirty sessions playing Age of Ashes. From the beginning, it’s been clear that Skoom cares deeply about the quality of his games and is committed to providing the best experience he can for his players. From the beginning, I was interested in a character more focused on crafting, especially with a particular subsystem within the campaign rewarding crafting investment. But the rules for crafting in PF2E left something to be desired. He worked with me to find and install a 3rd party crafting system that we both felt gave me a reason to invest in crafting. Since then, at least 2-3 other members of the party have engaged with the system, and I think it's been another interesting way to add fun exploration activity options. Skoom wants to make sure that his maps and experience are top notch. Working out how to use complex modules like Levels to build a multileveled castle which seamlessly transitioned between the first and second floor was an amazing touch to an already great map. When the default maps provided didn’t have the details he wanted, he spent time finding and commissioning new art as replacement. Each and every token is top notch, all the PCs, all of the familiars, and every NPC has had nice touches the enhance the immersion. That's not to say that everything has been perfect in our 30ish session adventure. We have had our share of troubles, from skill challenges that might have taken a wrong turn, players having to leave the campaign for various reasons, to combats that probably lasted a bit too long. Any campaign that gets its feet off the ground is going to have moments of struggle. But through all of that, the campaign has always moved forward, usually stronger and more streamlined. Its important when you join a campaign that you feel confident that your GM is going to be able to handle the hardships, and I can say with confidence that Skoom can and will do everything he can to keep your campaign going to the highest quality. If you are looking to a strong Pathfinder 2nd edition adventure where you engage in difficult combat, fun roleplay and quality content, I can’t recommend Skoom enough.
