Lou is a fabulous DM, and I can't recommend him highly enough. I've been playing in his campaign for about a year and a half, and I'm constantly impressed by his ability to adapt the game to the needs of the table at any time. He is personable and approachable, always ensuring his players feel welcomed and included at the table. As a shy person with a lot of social anxiety, I was initially apprehensive about playing D&D because of the role play and improv performance aspects of the game. At Lou's table, I've only ever felt comfortable, accepted, and supported. His ability to create spaces where all his players can come as they are, where their individual needs and boundaries will always be respected, has converted me from a D&D skeptic to a diehard fan. Beyond his skills in creating a table culture that prioritizes inclusivity, communication, and player comfort, Lou is also very knowledgeable about the rules and mechanics of the game. He's flexible in implementing those rules. He often prioritizes the story being told above the mechanics, while always being mindful of keeping the game fair for all players. Lou also encourages creativity and collaborates readily with players, accounting for character backstories, motives, and goals. Lou has always been willing to work with me to integrate my character into the main plot of the story with plenty of in-game opportunities to pursue side quests and explore subplots. This has allowed me to connect deeply with my character, and I savor every opportunity to step into his shoes and experience the world of the game through his eyes. This connection comes not only from Lou's ability to weave backstories into the main campaign plot, but also his willingness to allow players space for inter-character RP at the table. Playing at Lou's table has been a genuinely positive experience in my life. I look forward to every session. I wish nothing more than for others to have the opportunity to play at Lou's table so they can also escape into a D&D adventure that's full of drama, action, laughs, memorable moments, and new, life-long friends.
