When I first signed up for a play-by-post game through startplaying.games, I was worried that the DM would feel a lot of pressure to let anything players want to do slide, fudge encounters, and just generally take the stakes out of it by making everything feel too easy. But Thomas is a fantastic DM who deftly balances making sure it feels like a challenge with encouraging players to do fun things. Thomas is a creative, warm, and fun DM -- that comes through even though I have only ever exchanged messages with him! We just finished the first chapter of Lost Mine of Phandelver after a wild ride that went way off-script, and Thomas handled it in a truly delightful way. It really felt like the best of what happens when DMs and players riff off of each other, and finally achieving our objective in that first chapter truly felt like a well-earned accomplishment. He is also great at keeping the game running smoothly, which is crucial for play by post.

I had fun playing a one shot she ran! She was open to my character ideas and did a good job incorporating my character concept into the one shot.

This was my first time on SPG, and my first time using the Roll20 VTT, and I had a very good experience! Steve was great at bringing NPCs to life.
