As a beginner, I appreciate Paul's quiet, knowledgeable, patient and creative leadership. Climbing the simultaneous "leaning curves" of D&D, Roll20 and the campaign itself has been and fun, stress free, and rewarding. He juggles the player dynamics (new vs experienced, introverted vs extroverted &c.) well, creating sessions that are enjoyable for all of us. Questions are helpfully answered, whether is is a beginner mechanics query or how far the rules may be "creatively stretched" for advanced character development. I am looking forward to the evolution of this campaign and the team.
Maximilian was wonderful if answering a newcomer's questions both before the game and during. He communicated the process, rules and nuances of the tools extremely well (the three learning curves for a beginner). His style and pace adapted to our needs ... he took plenty of time to listen. I am really looking forward to continuing the adventure. Update after session 3: I am really enjoying the sessions with Maximillian and the group. He is developing some really engaging plotlines and NPCs that include problem solving and negotiation as well as encounters. We have plenty of options and potential scenarios to explore rather than being 'persuaded' to stick to a linear pre-conceived narrative. Maximillian has prepared some wonderful scenes and adapts to our styles, humour and decisions, making the sessions really fun. He has a great mentoring style that allows us to learn the mechanics 'in the background' as we go and to adapt the sessions to new players joining without breaking the game flow.
