I got the awesome opportunity to play in a holiday one-shot with Nikki and had an absolute blast! She was very open in what we brought to the table (and even let me have Rudy, the flying reindeer mount!), and from the moment I joined the voice call, set a tone that felt enthusiastic, safe and fun. The session was paced well, with moments intentionally laid out for each party member to be able to narratively partake, shine in their own space and spotlight, and do well without feeling overshadowed. Narrative and role-play were the driving forces more than combat, but Nikki was versed in all the rules we needed during the combat encounters, and the combat I felt was scaled nicely! All around, I had an awesome time! I genuinely hope I'm able to play at her table again in the future, either for a one-shot or a full campaign. I heard about Nikki from my regular GM and he has praised her every time she's been mentioned for as long as I've played with him, so she comes very highly recommended. If you're on the fence about playing in an online game or you're new to TTRPGs, I can promise you'll feel fun and safe at her table!

Pete is a truly fantastic DM. Despite all the other stuff I'm going to add on in this review, that statement is really what is all boils down to, he's awesome. I'm coming back to update my review after finishing a four year campaign that went 190+ sessions. Throughout a campaign that saw near entire party turn over two or three times (due to scheduling over the course of four years) Pete was loyal to us as players and our characters, and telling the story he had laid out. He is dedicated to people getting the experience they pay for and so much more. He creates worlds that are so richly inhabited that are begging to be explored and interacted with. His sandbox campaigns are not just deserts waiting to be molded, they're entire kingdoms waiting to be explored, built upon, or taken down. He creates games that are so expertly tailored to the people playing them and is an expert at planning just as much as he is playing off the cuff. Go play a game with Pete, you'll be happy you did.
