I don't have a lot of experience with VTT RPG, but I played many TT RPGs in the past. My impression of this DM is that he creates realistic combat experiences while remaining flexible, within reason, in the campaign overall for the players. I think he sets a goal for the party (e.g., complete the first part/chapter of a campaign) while leaving the players to determine the pathway there. He is prepared for each session, and he uses The Forge very effectively to enhance the gaming experience. Whether it's roleplaying or combat, he seems to lean into what interests his players.
Grayson engages the players in the story and allows for the story to progress without necessarily being forced down a predetermined pathway. The choices of the players really do matter, and Grayson does expect players to make decisions. But at the same time, Grayson helps players to understand the rules and is patient with players who are still trying to find their way in D&D.
Scott does a great job of adapting to player actions that may not have been anticipated. His style encourages roleplaying while maintaining balance with those who want the hack 'n slash experience. If you are looking for a preplanned story with enough flexibility from the DM to allow some open sandbox style playing, then try a game with Scott.
