I have now played two sessions of a very fun campaign with this GM. Our party has done all sorts of wacky and odd things, ranging from wild strategies to bold storytelling moves to hilariously stupid bits. Gruber has encouraged all of it with incredible enthusiasm. She can be firm or loose with the rules depending on the situation and regularly offers a variety of assistance to players during and between sessions. It is also worth noting that she has consistently gone up to an hour past the scheduled end time for our sessions, which is not any fault of her own and entirely because we, the players, like to take our time. She has always been willing to accommodate us with incredible patience and grace in order to make sure the session reaches its satisfying conclusion. This is something I'm incredibly grateful for and really shows how above and beyond this GM goes.

This is my first time ever writing a review for StartPlaying even though I’ve been using this service for over a year. The reason for that is simple: Mitch was incredible. He joined the game an hour and a half early to help me create my character and ended up playing an extra hour because we were taking our time with rp. Throughout all of this, he wasn’t just tolerating our slowness, he was actively encouraging it. He makes a point of wanting you to get the most bang for your buck and really engage with rp and story. He also included regular unprompted check-ins despite already having safety tools in place. His constant communication around what the players wanted, including slowing and quickening the pace of the game and checking when we needed a break not only made us feel heard but demonstrated incredible flexibility around the wishes of the players. Despite the fact this particular game only had two players, his positive and encouraging attitude, terrific storytelling, and overall just great GM’ing made this the most fun I’ve had in a TTRPG as far as I can remember. I can’t really put it into words, other than he’s just great at everything you want a GM to be great at. Can’t recommend enough.
