About me

I've been playing TTRPGs consistently for I think over 5 years now, on and off for closer to 10. Much of that has been Black Crusade, with some D&D here and there and a sprinkling of other systems for flavour. When I first started playing, I had such severe social anxiety that I could barely stutter out my character's speech and action in the third person. But I love to play, so I've kept at it with an understanding group, and now I make in-character jokes and enjoy finding my feet in a role. I love the process of "feeling out" who a character is, as if they already exist and I'm just figuring out what traits they would most naturally have. I also enjoy some utter nonsense in my games, when that doesn't stem from "punching down", but never to the point that the game itself is completely lost. Laughing, not durdling!

I was going to leave a silly review, because Dawid is honestly just such a fun and relaxed GM that I know he'd take it in stride. But I decided that didn't reflect how I feel about him as a GM. I have social anxiety, amongst other things. When I first joined with Dawid it was still very severe. I was terrified, I was trying but I was terrified. And Dawid was so incredibly supportive. He allowed and loved my homebrew-ish class (Wild Oracle from the Adventurer's Tarot), and his enthusiasm for basically everything I did made me rapidly feel so much more confident speaking up, speaking in role, and being myself. As a GM, Dawid is outgoing but never to the point that it's overwhelming. And if he was, he'd want to know, because he respects so deeply that everyone has boundaries and limits and needs, and wants to work with you to make sure you feel good about your game. No, instead of being overwhelming, his enthusiasm is contagious, a joy for the game that overflows and fills the call. I'm now in several campaigns with Dawid, in the newest of which I have chosen to play a Bard! And far from being confined to my D&D games, my ability to talk to people has been improving away from the table as well. Having Dawid as my GM has literally been life-changing for me, without any exaggeration. His style of play is fun and engaging, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
