Zagreus is an incredible storyteller. Zag spins really remarkable, transportive, and visual stories. Zag has created an entire world where time is passing and growing and breathing as the characters make decisions--or don't! He uses striking visual images to help transport us from scene to scene as he paints vivid mental imagery of various wonderous lands. They've mastered music as a storytelling element as well. They always seem to drop into the perfect tone-setting sound. Tension builds in the music at all the appropriate times. Some of their voices have been so terrifying I'd jump back, or so warm we'd be heartbroken. Zag's games aren't easy. Point stop. The enemies hit hard, your every move counts. You have a very real possibility of your character getting disfigured in the first battle. But the wonderful thing is that is all part of the story too. It doesn't stop. I look forward to every game. Zag has multiple tables in the same world. It is satisfying to know that some of our actions may even have rolling effects on the others. Again, breathing. Rewarding.
