I good DM who does a good job of helping players fit into the world while keeping their individual tastes in mind, keeping even complex scenes flowing smoothly, and weaving player backstory/campaign history into the present.

I have nothing but good things to say about Basil. His balance between fun and drama is top-notch; he's always open to the players occasionally taking advantage of a silly moment or opportunity for a joke while being mindful of keeping the story moving along, which lets both moods thrive since they both get to remain in balance. As a player, I never feel pressure to either loosen up or take things more seriously, but feel as though the game is accepting of both when the moment is right and that a good balance between the two is kept at all times. He is very creative when it comes to the player's effect on the game, especially in terms of incorporating character backstories and consequences (both positive and negative) for significant actions. The characters always have meaningful impact on the story and setting, even in the minor ways that don't directly influence the main story but still make the world feel real. He is also incredibly open to feedback, taking the time at the end of every session to explicitly invite it and always being open to it when it comes up. He is quick and eager to address any problems with the experience of the players or quirks of the rules, and his rulings have always been fair and resulted in the game being more fun for people who wanted questions about the mechanics answered. Overall, Basic is an excellent DM who I am happy to be running with. I have zero complaints and plan to stay at his table as long as the game lasts.
