Just completed a long campaign with Derek. I started out as a new D&D player and by the end I was comfortable not just with the game, but role playing too. Derek does a wonderful job of setting the scene, bringing characters to life and best of all he incorporated the backstories into the overall plot. He is very consistent with his rules (both RAW and homebrew). After every session he would ask us what we would like to do more of, or less in the next couple of sessions. He is always open to ideas and rule of cool scenarios. He does a great job of balancing different players approach and will always listen to feedback, any day of the week. We had one individual who's backstory was unique and when Derek reviled a major hook during one of the sessions, it was amazing. It felt as if it was part of the main story line and we were just like "wow that was awesome". I can't speak highly enough in Derek as a DM and the players are looking forward to our next campaign that Derek will be offering.
