AJ was an amazing Dungeon Master. It had been a few years since I had played a Tabletop RPG but he went our of his way to get me up to speed with 5th edition. When I joined the campaign he made sure to run a special one-shot with a few other members to help me get a feel for how he liked to run his games. Every adventure we went on felt carefully handcrafted, even when we would sometimes go off the rails and spend the night getting in a bar fight rather than progressing the story. All of our actions felt like they had consequences in his world. AJ is not afraid to create his own custom enemies with special stat blocks so even the most veteran players who had the whole monster manual memorized would rarely know what was about to hit them. Being from Gary Gygax's hometown I have played with GM's who learned from Gary himself and AJ is absolutely on par with them.
