I've only done a very first session so far, in the Draw Steel system, doing the Delian Tomb tutorial encounter to learn the system, using pre-gens and one custom character among the 4 of us, but it went pretty well! Good GM'ing by Mino, he knew the rules pretty well for a fairly new system, and was totally willing to look things up if he wasn't sure, and was quick about it when he did, and he allowed us to be creative when needed, and everyone liked the system and the first session. We even did a nice debrief with him after where he discussed things with us, which is awesome. So if you want learn to play Draw Steel, doing it through Mino like this is a great way to do it! Can't say as much about his story-telling aspect and all that, since it is a pre-built tutorial module that doesn't that much variability in what you can do, but I'd def be willing to try a custom game session with him based on what I've seen so far. Oh, and the Foundry VTT he uses is pretty great! This is an important thing to note b/c this can really affect the gameplay experience a lot if the system is hard to use/confusing/a pain! It really simplified things as you basically just clicked on your ability once to roll dice, and it did the attack roll and damage for you-and pretty much everything has a square grid map that has your characters and NPCs and enemies on it, so you could see everything-and it does Line of Sight and Fog of War too-pretty cool! I've played a lot of D&D and 5E so I was able to pick up the system and abilities pretty quickly and move beyond what the module thinks you can do to using all my level 1 abilities from the start-and Draw Steel def abstracts and simplies a lot of things over 5E to try to get things to move faster, so by the second encounter I would say combats moved a lot quicker for us too. So that's nice and important to consider.
