About Zenaku
I’m Luis, known online as Zenaku, and I’ve been running Dungeons and Dragons 5e for about eight years, starting back in 2017. What began as stepping up for a group quickly became a long-term passion. I specialize in deep worldbuilding, strong narratives, and memorable NPCs, all while keeping player choice at the center of the story. I run D&D 5e across many different tones and genres, from classic fantasy to darker or more experimental themes, while staying true to the system. My sessions balance solid preparation with room for improvisation, letting player decisions shape the world in meaningful ways. My goal is to create immersive, character driven adventures where players feel fully invested and walk away remembering the stories we built together.

I became a GM because
I became a GM because my friends wanted to play Dungeons and Dragons, but no one wanted to run the game. I decided to step up, and once I did, I realized how much I loved creating worlds, telling stories, and bringing players together to build a word together.
My favorite books are
My all time favorite books include The Dark Tower series, The Lord of the Rings who does not love it, the Eragon series, The Hunger Games, and many more. These stories heavily inspire the worlds, themes, and long form storytelling I bring into my games.

How Zenaku runs games
My games focus on a deep, living world where your choices truly matter. Story paths split based on what you do, and NPCs react like real people, not scripts. I enjoy roleplay, so even minor characters have their own voices, worries, and motivations. Combat is tense but fair, with more than one way to win. Clever tactics, teamwork, and creative thinking are rewarded just as much as raw strength. I design encounters to feel cinematic, using music and atmosphere to pull you fully into the moment. My style blends strong storytelling with flexible play. Whether you enjoy intense combat, political intrigue, exploration, or meaningful character growth, my goal is always the same. To create immersive, memorable sessions that feel exciting, personal, and worth talking about long after the game ends.

I prep by
After each session, I reflect on what happened and the choices the players made. I build on what we created together and add new elements when needed. In Foundry VTT, I test sessions ahead of time so that even unused paths still have ways to carry the story forward.
Rules are...
Rules are important and respected, but never at the cost of fun, flow, or the story we are building together.
When it comes to voices
I spend a lot of time practicing character voices until they feel right. I’ve loved roleplaying since I was a kid, making stories and acting them out. Even if some NPCs are annoying, you react to them, loving them or hating them, and they feel real.
Zenaku's ideal table
My table is welcoming, relaxed, and inclusive of different play styles. I do not require players to stay in character at all times, as I understand not everyone enjoys heavy roleplay. Whether you love acting out scenes or prefer focusing on combat and tactics, you are welcome at my table. The goal is to build a world together that works for everyone. I design games where roleplay focused players, combat focused players, and explorers all have meaningful moments. The general vibe is collaborative, cinematic, and fun, with space for serious story beats, smart combat, and plenty of laughs along the way.
