About Zbro

I've been a Game Master for around 9 years, with a passion for creating fun, engaging adventures for everyone at the table. Over the years, I've introduced many newcomers to TTRPGs, aiming to make their first experiences memorable and welcoming. I'm friendly, approachable, and always aim to make players feel comfortable. While I'm new to this platform, I've received lots of positive feedback elsewhere. I’ve run D&D 5E and Pathfinder 1E, but D&D 5E is my main focus. When I’m not gaming, I’m a regular guy helping out at home—grateful for the chance to turn my passion into something that brings joy to others (and helps with putting a little more bread on the table).

I became a GM because

It feels me with joy being the core reason of putting smiles on my players faces whenever they are coming to play or after the session has been concluded. I also wanted to meet some people along the way which I did manage to do! Some stuck around even to this day.

People are always surprised when I tell them

That I have over 6000 hours on Roll20. I am somewhat new to Foundry, but I am managing just fine. Having the proficiency in the VTT is the first step to running a game well.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Playing various video games either on PC or my PlayStation. I tend to get various ideas from various RPGs that I managed to play through. My favorite card game is Yu-Gi-Oh which is also the game I grew up with.

How Zbro runs games

I aim for a well-rounded approach to storytelling, balancing roleplay, combat, and exploration across the course of a campaign. While not every session includes all three, the overall experience leans toward a classic, evenly paced adventure style. Sessions typically run around 4 hours with breaks as needed. I'm collaborative with players and encourage open communication—especially around character ideas. I want to help bring your vision to life, and surprises work best when we’re on the same page. I'm beginner-friendly and have introduced many first-time players to TTRPGs with great success. My teaching style is clear and approachable—once you get the basics, everything else falls into place. Combat is designed to be challenging but fair. I reward creative thinking and strategic play, and I believe victories should feel earned. Sometimes preparation makes things easier—and that’s part of the fun too!

I deal with rules issues by...

Swiftly and efficiently. If I can quickly look it up, I do. If not, then I make a decision on the spot and check up the rule on my own time. Before next session time everyone will know how will the rule be enforced. I am not spending session time to look up rules or debate them for hours.

I once ran a session...

Where the party of 6 people split up and started 3 different combats at the SAME TIME! One player fought an invisible stalker, three fought a set of Powder Monkeys and two were engaged in underwater combat. It was chaotic to say the least, and yet I managed to run it. Please don't do that.

Rules are...

Helpful. I tend to play mostly with the core rules. When I say mostly, that means I have some homebrew in place as well. Any homebrew rule is made known and no one will have to go through the game and "find out". I do encourage anyone to ask me for anything specific none the less.

Zbro's ideal table

I like to keep my table lively and engaging. Some moments call for light-hearted fun and comedy, while others may shift into more serious, dramatic territory—it all depends on the situation and the group’s energy. Players who enjoy teamwork, creativity, and aren't afraid to try things even if they’re not the “optimal play” will fit in well here. I encourage collaboration and love seeing players come up with ideas together—combo moves and shared strategies make for great moments. I do my best to support each player’s vision for their character. If you’ve got a cool concept or flavorful idea, I want to help make it happen. Flavor is always free, and I encourage players to bring it in whenever they can.

I love it when a player

Is open and direct with their GM. I am here to help you achieve the dream for the character you might be playing and keeping secrets from me might end up with me saying "no" at a crucial moment just 'cos a player didn't want to share the idea with the one person who runs the whole ordeal.

I think min/maxing...

Is a great way to show someone's "skill" at the mechanical portion of the game. But if min/maxing is ALL your character is about then I will see them simply as a bland character. Everyone should use the mechanical portion as bones of a PC while coating them with flavor to make the rest of the body.

My table is not the place for...

People who think that every situation is always about them. As long as there are more then just one player, the attention I will be giving will always be towards everyone. Maybe not at the same time, but I believe you know what I mean.
