About Tonval
My name is Val or Tonval. English is not my first language so I can make mistakes. I've been playing TTRPGs for 8 years, I've been DMing dnd5e for 5 years, and now I'm DMing PF2e for 1.5 years now I prefer more serious games with a minimum amount of metagame, off-topic discussions. I try very hard to make the process as mechanically automated as possible in order to save more time for the game itself.

I became a GM because
TTRPGs are great way to spend time playing pretend and just escape your everyday life and have fun for 3-5 hours, and GMing is just a different way of having this fun, even if costs more time and energy every week.
How Tonval runs games
I love roleplaying, prefer more challenging combat encounters but I can twist the difficulty if the group doesn't really want that. - I always use character backstories and try to include them in the main narrative, as well as create separate, personal quests - Each important location has its own art, all important NPCs have separate tokens that are listed in a journal that describes their appearance and notes about them - Each quest is described and has separate tasks that are regularly updated in a special, separate menu - The maps contain interactive elements, you don't need to declare that you are trying to inspect a mysterious altar, pick or break down a door, light a torch on the wall that is marked on the map, etc., you can do all this yourself through the provided interface - All traps are automated and you don't need to stop the game, make saving throws, etc. - You won't need to go into your character sheet to make a skill check or saving throw, a prompt will appear in the chat, which you can simply click on and it will be compactly displayed in the prompt window - The combat is automated to the maximum of my capabilities, almost all abilities from player's side are automated - All abilities have sound effects and animations

I deal with rules issues by...
going with the flow for the time being, looking up the rule on the break or after the session. I don't really like stopping the game to look up rules for too long.
I prep by
going through everything I have in VTT, checking if I have everything prepared and going through the plot points and npcs that the players might encounter. I also listen to soundtracks to get into the vibe of the story.
