About UnsafeCrayon
Hiya, I'm Case. A lover of RPGs, an occasional photographer, and a sometimes musician, I was introduced to TTRPGs by my father when I was 9. I took a short break in my 30s but came back to this love when I needed to focus on something because of my mental health. Now I'm glad I came back into the fold to enjoy the renaissance that the gaming industry seems to be going through. Soon as I got my sea-legs, it was on my bucket list to GM in the nuanced way that game masters do these days (since back when I DM'd in the 90s, it was a far cry less than the elevated art form I now see it treated as). My games are also a shared space, a safe space for expressions and creativity.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
1. D&D 5e/2024 2. Green Ronin's AGE System 3. Monty Cook's Cypher System
People are always surprised when I tell them
I used to be a tattoo artist as well as work in the body piercing industry.
When I'm not running games I'm...
In my free time I produce electronic music (mostly minimal drum & bass and ambient/drone), shoot shots with my digital camera, and pal around with my terrier Stu.
How UnsafeCrayon runs games
I usually run a crunchy game that leans heavy on the Rule of Cool with combat and narrative story telling being the things I love. But I also get into the role-playing because I believe in excellence in all aspects. A balance of elements. I also believe TTRPG games should be a safe place for players to escape to. A shared place for creativity and sociability. So please respect others in my games. To a certain extent, we are all responsible for the other's enjoyment.
UnsafeCrayon's ideal table
I prefer to keep things up-beat and positive at my table, even if the subject matter may be darker. I think we all have a hand in creating a shared space that everyone should feel welcome to sit at.
