I became a GM because
I wanted to create a world together with my friends through some collaborative writing and as I picked up all of the pieces and figured out how to glue it all together, I realized how much I enjoyed the process of creating my own setting to run games within.
How Turnerman99 runs games
I run my games to tell a story for the players, about the world around them and the impact that each character has upon it. I strive to strike a balance between fun tactical combat, engaging and interesting roleplay, and exciting moments that make a session more than just a game, but a fun memory you recall. I enjoy creating spaces where players can interact deeply with their fellow player characters as well as the NPCs around them. Whether you're haggling with a merchant, interrogating a bandit, or sharing drinks in a tavern, I bring NPCs to life with personality, emotion, and motivations. Your choices in the world matter, and the campaigns story grows from what you choose to do, not from a set script. I adapt around the party’s direction so the campaign feels more tailored, reactive, and personal for each party. At the end of the day what you're doing is playing a game and games should be fun and enjoyable. Expect a table where laughter, excitement, and camaraderie are as important as strategy and storytelling. I run a table that welcomes veterans and newcomers alike.

Rules are...
The tools by which the game is ran, but not every tool needs to be used in the way that was intended. Also, some of the tools need to be remade entirely. While I have built a custom toolbox that fits in some new rules, it also isn't perfect still.
Turnerman99's ideal table
Players that can have fun with themselves but also can be serious in moments of high stakes.

I think min/maxing...
Is not a problem so long as a character still has a motivation and personality that exists beyond just what the stats present.
