About me
Hello there! I’m Tribble (or you can call me Kay). I am an IT professional by day, and a Storyteller by night. You can tell which one of those is a bit more exciting. My tabletop gaming journey began in 2020 during the pandemic, starting with Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Since then, I’ve branched out into other systems, including Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition, where I now take on the role of Storyteller, delighting in making my players' unlives a challenge! I’m easygoing, friendly, and inclusive (the fact that I need to specify this in 2024 is atrocious). I’m always happy to welcome and guide new players into the World of Darkness. Besides tabletop gaming, I enjoy all other forms of gaming (PC and board games), cooking, dancing and swimming. I am also an avid reader, which helps me craft colourful stories and expand my imagination. Also, yes, that is my cat. Meet Skadi.
GM Style
When it comes to my style as a GM, there are a few things you might want to know: - Grey Morality: I love moral conundrums and the vast majority of my storylines are not black and white. All choices come in shades of grey. - RP and Exploration over Combat: I am a roleplayer at heart, and I prefer small groups of players in order to create a deeply intimate and tailored experience. Personally, I play tabletop to experience life as someone other than myself and focus on their story. It might be a bloody story, but still their story. This means majority of the combat will be part of a story rather than exist in a vacuum. - I RP in both first and third person: Truthfully, I struggle to deliver all the dialogue-in character, and honestly, sometimes delivering it that way is unnecessarily long. Thus, I will most likely speak some key lines as the character so that you can get a sense of their personality, and then RP in third person. I do my best with character voices; however, I am unable to do accents, so please excuse my polish-english frankenaccent. Curses! You can adapt the style you’re the most comfortable with, whether it’s talking in-character 24/7, describing your character’s actions in third person, or a mixture of both. - Maps: I am a very visual person, but I’ve found that “dungeon-style” maps are often more hassle than they are worth, AND they do not fit the games I run. I want to be responsive and fluid in my storytelling, and in order to do so, I find it easier to use flavour images than full-on walled maps with bells and whistles. When it comes to combat, I will most likely slap a grid on the image we are currently on, and you will be able to witness my artistic prowess as I mark the area with X’s to represent obstacles. - Character Death: I will be asking each player how they feel regarding character death in our chats, but to throw it out there – I prefer not to pull my punches. I am 100% willing to provide “plot armour” to your character if you prefer; I respect the player’s choice to witness their character arc in full. Having said that, if you start to abuse the immortality bestowed upon you and keep breaking immersion to the point that the rest of the table is not having fun, I will kill you. Respect goes both ways.
