Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello. Welcome to my table... I am a game master with over 2 decades worth of experience running games of various systems, settings, and genres. Everyone is welcome at my table! I love that roleplaying games engage imagination and improvisation in both the players and the GM. I craft unforgettable tabletop experiences steeped in darkness, mystery, and high-stakes storytelling. Whether unraveling ancient conspiracies, surviving apocalyptic horrors, or battling cosmic forces, I lead players through worlds where danger lurks in every shadow. I thrive on making stories with the characters. I am known to improvise very well with whatever the characters want to do and give consequences when appropriate. I don’t seek to kill characters, but I also don’t like to hold punches in combat. I cater my style based on the game and setting we are playing. I have a physical condition called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC for short) that limits strength and mobility in my appendages, so my mind and imagination are my biggest assets. I love telling a story and being part of the creative process for others’ creativity!

Creating your character
We will go through character creation individually during session 0. They will be created on Discord, and we will use digital character sheets. After every level up, I will require a copy of the character sheet to keep up to date, and to track in-character abilities, defenses, etc. This ensures smoother gameplay. Dice rolls may be made online or at home on the honor code.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A working microphone will be required. A webcam is suggested, but not mandatory. There's a chance the game may be streamed/recorded if EVERYONE IS WILLING. Characters will be created. No software other than Discord should be necessary.
What Colwyn brings to the table
This franchise has been an obsession of mine for 25+ years! I have a strong knowledge of the lore and storytelling style to offer players a compelling plot fitting for this setting. Rules will be guidelines, but I make the final call. If you think something might be cool that blurs those lines, I will probably be willing to work with you. We will be using Roll20 for maps, combat encounters, music and sound effects. I also utilize theater of the mind for deeper immersion. I would like to stream/record this campaign, but only if EVERYONE agrees!

How Colwyn creates a safe table
We will go through safety tools during Session 0. Also during Session 0, we will finalize character creation. I would like players to begin building characters prior to Session 0, but finish them then. I can supply players with pdfs of any game materials (except dice). The game system(s) we will use is d20 Modern and d20 Future. Our source for character development is www.d20resources.com. We are building level 4 characters. This is a fast-paced cinematic game that is loaded with danger! You should expect your character to be in danger of dying the entire game session. We will use a VTT (Roll20) for the maps, along with music and sound effects to increase immersion.
