About Travis
What made me want to do this? I like doing this, and I like getting paid, and I know what I do has value. If I have one special skill as a GM it's that I tend to roll horribly, which seems to make players happy. If anything makes me a little different from the typical notion of a GM, it's that I didn't come to roleplaying through games, but through the theater. As such I generally tend to favor the narrative and the fiction over the rules. I like to do voices for my NPCs, but I have no expectation regarding RP commitment from the players. I have a deep appreciation for the crunchy tactical rules of D&D and Pathfinder, and other "combat simulators" as I call them. I also love RP focused games where I never have to reference a rule or worry about issues of interpretation. I like to think I get along well with all kinds of gamers, and I strive to create a space that is not tailored to one type of player. I am also the least adversarial GM you will ever meet, I want my players to win, and I want them to do well. That doesn't mean plot armor for players, I have had parties wipe, but it's never my aim.

How Travis runs games
My GMing style will often reflect the players and the game we are playing. In D&D and Pathfinder (d20 games in general) I tend toward a heavy mix of combat and RP, with skill challenges and puzzles sprinkled in. I have a homebrew setting that I prefer to use, but I have run lots of games in Forgotten Realms. With most other systems I tend toward a heavier focus on RP and player driven story telling.
