About Sav ︱ The Curiosity

As a lifelong fan of fantasy adventure, my journey into the world of GMing revealed a passion I never knew I had. Building a D&D community opened my eyes to the incredible power of TTRPGs to foster connections and provide an escape from the demands of everyday life. Now, I run games exclusively online, using the amazing features of Foundry to craft epic adventures for players worldwide.

I became a GM because

A tale as old as time: There were no GMs in my area! In the Before Startplaying Times, searching for someone to actually run a campaign was a near impossible task. There were plenty of interested players in my area, so I decided to buy a copy of the DMG, and the rest is history!

My favorite books are

✦ Battle of the Linguist Mages by Scotto Moore ✦ The Centre by Ayesha Manazir Siddiqi ✦ Dungeon Crawler Carl (Series) by Matt Dinniman ✦ Recursion By Blake Crouch

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

"Silly, Enthusiastic, Imaginative" - Wren "Atmospheric, Inventive, Epic" - Gander "Empowering, Collaborative, Immersive" - Tanoa "Chaotic, Real, Unforgettable" - Zane

How Sav ︱ The Curiosity runs games

My sessions are a blend of dynamic roleplay, unexpected baddies, and unusual locations. Whether it's a zany one-shot full of bad puns or a long campaign exploring the darker side of fantasy, I aim to keep things exciting and immersive. I balance roleplay with roll-play, ensuring everyone has a chance to shine, and I lean into the "Rule of Cool" to encourage creative solutions. A rewarding session, to me, is one where players are joking, scheming, and overcoming challenges together. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned adventurer, I invite you to join my table for an unforgettable journey.

I deal with rules issues by...

going with what would more narratively fun for the party! Rules are great guidelines, but the true purpose of the game is to have a great time, not to flip through a rule book.

I once ran a session...

on the beach! Our local game store was closed unexpectedly on game day, so we all drove to the beach and rolled dice seaside! On our mid-session break we all got snacks on the boardwalk and enjoyed the great weather.

Sav ︱ The Curiosity's ideal table

Creating a safe and inclusive space is a priority for me. I welcome players of all backgrounds, especially those new to the game or looking for a comfortable and supportive environment. I strive to have my games feel like a home session: a community where laughter, creativity, and camaraderie are at the forefront. I don't take myself too seriously and encourage players not too either!

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

corny jokes, silly voices, and terrifying consequences

I love it when a player

thinks outside of their character sheet! Some of the most memorable in-game moments for me have been when players fully leaned into the world and did things wholly unexpected.

I think min/maxing...

should be reserved for videogames. The real magic of TTRPGs lies in the possibility of failure, and how characters overcome it.
