About Tales Told Together
Hey! I’m Liam. When I’m not managing a class of 9-year-olds, I’m running tabletop RPGs and telling stories with people around the table. I regularly run in-person games at local stores, board game cafés and even the occasional medieval castle! When I’m not rolling dice in person, I run games online through Roll20 and Discord, including long-running groups with players spread across two continents. My games are story-focused, character-driven and usually filled with plenty of humour, horror and usually an equal measure of both. I love creating interesting encounters, memorable characters and giving players the freedom to make choices that genuinely shape the story. Depending on the game, that might mean high fantasy adventure, cosy mystery, intrigue or something much darker, with horror and dread creeping in around the edges. I particularly love games with a strong sense of atmosphere and emotion, whether that is exploring the strange whimsy of the Feywild, investigating a murder in Brindlewood Bay or discovering an entirely unexpected story through the choices made at the table. More than anything, my greatest joy as a GM is seeing what happens when a group of people come together and create a story none of us could have told alone. After all, the best tales are told together. For one-shot bookings, I can run 4, 6 or 8-hour sessions depending on what you’re looking for. 4 hours - $20 per player 6 hours - $30 per player 8 hours - $40 per player

I became a GM because
I adore telling stories! I also love surprises, so getting to tell a story that I don't know the ending. It's perfect.
How Tales Told Together runs games
I love tabletop RPGs because they give us a chance to sit around a table, or on a Discord server, and tell incredible stories together. My favourite thing to do as a GM is make that story surround the players and their characters. Your actions will have consequences, both positive and negative, and will affect the people, relationships and world around you. I want you as a group to feel like the main characters. In campaigns, we will spend time during character creation building your characters and their connections collaboratively, giving us plenty to draw upon as the story develops. Your history, relationships and choices should feel like they belong in the world rather than simply sitting on a character sheet. I particularly love games with a strong atmosphere and a clear identity. That might mean a group of elderly women investigating increasingly strange murders in the cosy community of Brindlewood Bay, or ordinary people desperately trying to survive one final night together as the candles slowly burn out in Ten Candles. My one-shots are about giving you a complete and memorable story in a single session, while campaigns give us the opportunity to watch characters, relationships and mysteries develop over time. I enjoy everything from mystery and humour to fantasy adventure and horror, and I am always looking for those moments where the tone can shift from laughter around the table to everyone suddenly going quiet. Whatever we are playing, I want to create a world you can get lost in for a few hours and a story that feels like it belongs to the people sitting around the table. I cannot wait to see what story we tell together.
Tales Told Together's ideal table
My ideal table is a group of players who are willing to engage earnestly with the kind of story we are telling together. I particularly enjoy playing with people who want to roleplay, explore who their characters are and allow those characters to develop through the events of the game. You do not need to arrive with pages of backstory or be an experienced roleplayer, but I want you to be interested in making choices as your character and engaging with the other people around the table. Different games ask for different things from their players, and I love a group that is willing to embrace that. If we are playing a mystery, investigate and theorise. If we are playing horror, allow yourself to sit in the tension rather than immediately trying to break it. If the story becomes emotional, give those moments room to breathe. Above all, I want players who are interested in the story beyond their own character, who share the spotlight and who are willing to build on what everyone else brings to the table.
