About Dean aka Swordfish

I am a heavy world-builder and constantly working on different stories and universes, whether tinkering with pre-existing ones like Marvel/DC, Transformers, Gundam, etc, or my own works. - I have a roughly country-sized open-world fantasy map of a campaign as my main (credit: it is a modified free-to-use map created by Matthew Colville and his stream named Collabris) - I have two Fantasy World scenarios I've been itching to play test - And I also own a lot of systems to other existing worlds like Battletech/MechWarrior, Avatar The last airbender, Pokemon/Digimon and many more! I'm mostly a D&D guy, but love modern and scifi settings, HUGE SUPERHERO FAN!, and whatever System I don't own yet I'm willing to buy and attempt to run for your party. Caveat: while I've been working and studying for almost 10 years to DM because there's always been a cry for more Game Masters, I have never actually succeeded at hosting a full campaign. I'm trying to get my legs in, hence I'm offering a low price for my services.

How Dean aka Swordfish runs games

I can favor either heavy tactic maps or role-playing, or somewhere in between. However, I personally prefer to favor theater of the mind over figures and maps for the sheer point of the Rule of Cool. I want my players to have fun in the space, not be worried about what's the most optimal way to battle; but I, of course, can use maps and digital figures in the virtual world of hosting games. I have plenty of visual aids, battle maps, etc, I just like the idea of role-playing through the action more than the crunchy noodles of war gaming.
