About me
Hullo, I'm L Sunborn, British GM — it's a pleasure! PASSION is where I'm at right now. This is not only some of the most fun a person can have, it's also really important to where we are as a species. Sure, it's a window into the unknown and unfamiliar, but its real PSYCHIC BOON is how much you can learn about yourself and the people you're playing with. A writer since birth (moving gradually through fantasy/alt history/post-modern romance/pulp fiction/sci-fi), I took instantly to GMing. Being able to immerse others in such a direct and collaborative was a BREATH. After six years running games in person and online with local and worldwide friends, I became a dad, and then more of us became parents, and it became very difficult to schedule games. But NOW I find out there's a way to do what I love (and am very good at, promise!) while getting a bit of nappy/diaper pocket money? Sign me up!
GM Style
Longform worldbuilder with a love of accents and silly voices, punctuated by explosions of combat. My introduction to the world was Acquisitions Inc. and Critical Role, so my DMing is generally more collaborative and forgiving -- YES, AND -- but I've always been a big fan of grindy RPGs and have been poring over OSR recently, so beware, bending a rule might have it snap back on you at some point! I've DM'd for all types, and understand some like the social spotlight, others the heat of combat, others politics, others espionage, others deception, others lore, and others like running burgeoning trading empires. D&D's classes and backgrounds are versatile enough that with a bit of personality and consideration, and with good positive attitudes all round, you can make pretty much anything really fun for pretty much anyone.

L is a quality DM... I hope that's all the information you need. If not, then games are always full of laughs and feel relaxed but the detail and effort L puts into his worldbuilding and storytelling always bring it back to moments of pure class. L is quite flexible with rules if they aid the fun but equally, is a stickler for technic ailments which really add to the challenge of each fight or encounter. His pace is also bang-on. I've never felt when playing the game is stagnating (and we have spent 10 games in a single, port town) and the balance between RP and combat (about 50/50) is well maintained throughout each session. Genuinely a top guy too.

Great DM, the campaign I've been a part of so far has had great world building, interesting characters. Every encounter so far be it RP or combat has been great at providing entertainment while building on the story and the lore of the world we are in. He has interesting house rules as well that add to the fun. Would definitely recommend his campaigns

Great at worldbuilding creating a good scenery. If you enjoy small battles tying into a bigger story you are sure to enjoy this gm. From taking on common thugs to demons the battles vary differently with dynamic environment making battles fun and creative. You will enjoy a lot of content in these sessions.

I had a fantastic session with L. Sunborn as GM! This was my first experience on StartPlayingGames and I was pleasantly surprised by how natural he made me feel as a player. From the pre-session character development and world building to the actual session, he provided an in-depth experience that really showcased his passion as a GM.
