About Sarah
Hello all! My love for ttrpgs started after we all moved online for covid. I started with Vampire the Masquerade, and have been in love ever since. Because of who I am as a person, I quickly found myself running games for my friends, and now that's what I really enjoy.

I became a GM because
I'm one of those people who cant sit still. If I dive into something, I dive all the way in. I was already wanting to run my own game, but when a game I was in suddenly ended I pulled the trigger. I specifically love winding a characters backstories into the main plot.
People are always surprised when I tell them
I own over 20 snakes. I raise and breed western hognoses.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing, going to concerts or comedy shows, or feeding snakes.
How Sarah runs games
I like running social intrigue games where you and I build the world together. Once we get to playing I listen to the players as to what kind of game they want to play - but naturally I tend towards a game that's something like 70/30 on rails (quests) / off the rails (you doing your own thing). I play my NPC's like my own personal players. They have lives and desires beyond the things that happen in game. In my discord server I often add lore and entries giving glimpses into what these NPCs are doing between sessions. I'm just new, and I'm learning - but loving every second of it!

I deal with rules issues by...
The rule of cool wins in the moment. The rules are there to keep things fair, but in the moment I decide what's best for the overall story, and I go back later to verify if there needs to be any mechanical adjustments made.
My games focus on...
Collaborative story telling while exploring the darkness
When it comes to voices
Look, we cant all be Matt Mercer. I personally rarely do voices, but I do put on different cadence or mannerisms for my NPCs
Sarah's ideal table
My ideal players have a concept of their character, and the desire to flesh them out in game. They are interested in exploring the world I've built. They like a good mystery and enjoy being center stage as much as watching their table-mates have their center-stage moments. Most importantly, they have a sense of humor and enjoy a bit of chaos.

I love it when a player
Makes me think on the fly. Did you find a loophole I didnt think of? Awesome!
I think metagaming...
It's hard to avoid when you're an experienced player. Thats why I try to add some new twists and turns that are still mysterious even to experienced players.
I think min/maxing...
Is boring. Flawed characters are so much more interesting.
