About Steve the Storyteller
Does immersion mean something to you? Isn’t that why we go to see 3D movies? Or even, spend hundreds of dollars on top-end game systems and virtual reality? I truly believe that is one of the best parts about Tabletop Games in general: the opportunity for immersion on the most human level. My passion is to deliver that exact immersion to my players. I utilize dynamic lighting and effects within my Roll20 games, while sharing custom soundtracks with Syrinscape. I offer memorable NPCs, important conflicts and consequences guaranteed to carry across multiple sessions. I started running my own games in 2006 using White Wolf Publishing materials. Since then, I have also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing from Full Sail University. I use that learning to effectively tailor storylines to my player’s characters. Are you a new player? No worries! I enjoy teaching and helping with rules and online play. When it comes to character creation, I am available to help you find the kind of ideas that make sure you never forget your character! Want to try one of the more experienced games? You’ll get room for complex character arcs, pursuing interesting choices and satisfying challenges. Don’t see a game at the right time? Message me about private bookings or alternative scheduling!

How Steve the Storyteller runs games
I strive towards character-focused storytelling first! I have my choice of “homebrew” rules that I use to enhance my style of running games. But, generally I follow rules-as-written. Still, I will never shy away from a rule-of-cool that fits the characters and the narrative! I am adept at making sure Non-Player-Characters act according to their history and personality. And in that respect, I also make sure combat always serves the purpose of progressing the story! I am active in managing pacing and player spotlight to make sure that every session can conclude with your character feeling accomplished. Relationships, failures and ambitions can easily become active parts of any campaign. Creative solutions are encouraged and outcomes will echo throughout the story. I aim to make the experience as streamlined as possible whether you are just starting out, or have been playing for twenty-plus years. I utilize dynamic lighting and spell effects within my Roll20 games and share custom soundtracks with Syrinscape. I offer memorable NPCs, important conflicts and consequences guaranteed to carry across multiple sessions.

I once ran a session...
where my players were magically transported to a demi-plane ruled by a Satyr named MC Squidget, who DJ'ed a dinner party with carnival games!
I prep by
examining the rest of the world, what is happening and how that would affect the player characters.
When it comes to voices
I believe it immerses the players even more and have loved doing accents and different voices since I was a little kid. Expect it a lot!
Steve the Storyteller's ideal table
My table works best with engaged and considerate players who share the spotlight and support each other’s ideas. Collaborate and communicate. Remember that every player's character is just as important as yours to the story!
