About Spey
I have been running Pathfinder 2e, D&D 5e and Old-School Essentials for fun for the last couple of years, and have recently started running games professionally. I love to teach new people how to play these games and meet people where they're at, so they can learn and have a great time. My games are all about interesting scenarios and interactivity. Expect a mix of roleplay, exploration and tactical combat from my games, with balanced pacing that gives each encounter depth without becoming stale. I do not use AI for anything.

I got started GMing...
I got started GMing running a D&D one-shot session for some friends and, a little while after, picked up Pathfinder 2e on a Humble Bundle. I decided to start running it and fell in love with the system and with running games, and have had a regular game for about 2 years now.
My favorite books are
My favourite books are pretty much anything by Ursula K Le Guin, but I am especially fond of The Left Hand of Darkness, Earthsea: The Tombs of Atuan and Earthsea: Tehanu. All of these explore the intimate human aspects of sci-fi and fantasy universes, while exploring large, challenging concepts.
My favorite system of all Time is
My favourite system is Pathfinder 2e because it provides a huge amount of interesting options for players and the game master while pulling off the impressive feat of keeping things balanced and easy to adjudicate. As a player and as a GM, I always have fun with this system.
How Spey runs games
My favourite part of running games is setting up a scenario and seeing what clever, wacky or straightforward solutions my players find. Whether it's a puzzle, a tactical fight or an unlocked door in an empty room, chatting and laughing along with people as they make a path I would never have predicted is incredibly fun. You can expect a mix of roleplay, exploration and tactical combat from my games. I like to mix these together at a good pace which gives people a world to discover and characters to care about, but ensures they will be plundering dungeons, felling foes and navigating traps almost every session. I enjoy a good laugh but I like to keep the core story and worldbuilding of my games fairly serious and aim for emotional moments. Expect a game where silly things happen and jokes are had, but the world and its events will still be grounded with a sense of narrative weight.
Spey's ideal table
My ideal group is one who are self-driven and actively engage with scenarios, whether it's a tricky puzzle, a challenging fight or a stubborn NPC. I also love it when people work as a team and support each other, enjoying their victory as a group and celebrating each other's good rolls and clever plans. I also love it when people really get into making a character they really enjoy and play those characters out in the game, and can make those characters synergise with the group. Everyone having their own quirks and bonding with each other is a joy to behold, whether it makes us laugh or cry. Any players at my games must be comfortable with people of all kinds. I am LGBT, and I will not tolerate any discrimination at my table.

I am for a vibe that's...
I am for a vibe that keeps the core of the game's story serious while having plenty of jokes among the players and occasional silly moments. Narrative weight and lightheartedness both help to give each other more impact by keeping the tone from becoming dreary or grating.
I think metagaming...
I think metagaming is okay within limits. Trying to make the best decision your character could make at a critical moment or attempting to exploit a commonly known weakness without a check is fine, but looking up stat blocks or reading the adventure for answers is cheating as far as I am concerned.
My perfect party mix is
One where everyone can synergise well with each other and all feel important to the group. A classic, balanced party is the easiest way to do this, but even a group of all fighters can make it work if they specialise differently, strategise and work together.
