About me
My name is Christopher Rondeau and I am the owner of Skald's Tale Entertainment. For the last 4 years, I have been a professional GM full-time. I have been featured in Polygon and Major Spoilers Entertainment, created a handful of podcasts and streams, and received a Masters that specialized in narrative arc in collaborative storytelling. Not only do I provide a solid story, I work with you to create a character that goes through natural growth and gets a satisfying ending. Looking forward to gaming with you.
GM Style
My philosophy with all my games comes from my interaction with the players. I ask my players two questions. What is their characters abstract goal and what is their concrete goal. Maybe they want their character concretely to become high priest of a church but abstractly they just need someone to appreciate their hard work. I then take my players goals and create a narrative within my story for them. When they hit their story goals, they should feel they have overcome natural obstacles to get what they want and be satisfied when they finally succeed.

Game Master Reviews (3)
Chris has been a great DM. Using all the PC's backstories in a way to make everyone feel important and engaged in the story while not singling out a single player into the "Main Character" problem. Making the main plot obvious enough that we never felt "well what now?" but at the same time never getting close to railroading and allowing us to pursue what we wanted to. Even facilitated a split party with temp PCs for the players to all stay involved even when their main character was off pursuing the other path. I have not had a DM willing to do something like that, in effect doing two adventures in one for a time. For our game he weaved together a Cyberpunk setting and a Fantasy setting, brining in all the standard fair that you want to experience from each while twisting enough of the clichés that it truly feels fresh.
I've been playing with Chris for a few years now and I'm happy to report that he is a great GM, posesses a variety of skills and is constantly improving his game. He is able to manage multiple players' plotlines in a sandboxy type of campaign as well as dramatic quest in an epic story kind of game. He can be both serious and play along with a bit of siliness when appropriate. He handles combat especially well and on point, and his encounters are always thrilling. Not a puzzle kind of guy, or at least I didn't encounter many of them in his games, but that's probably because he is adjusting his playstyle to each individual group's preferences. Anyway, overall 5/5!
