About Seth Williams-McNa

My favorite thing is and has always been telling stories. My draw to TTRPGS was inevitable. Not only for the fantasy and sci-fi settings which plagued my imagination, but for my endless itch for a good story where even I don't know the ending. I view TTRPGS as the ultimate storytelling experience rather than a game. While combat is fun the only thing that makes it exciting and heart pounding is the stakes and consequences that surround it. I've played TTRPGS For 10 years most of that being a DM for 5th edition D&D. I prefer creating my worlds rather than using a pre-written adventure/setting. I do this to allow players to create the world with me. Cities, towns, NPC’s, anything written down in your backstory is added into my world. The players will always be my main focus and I'll try my best to make all feel impactful to the story we tell together. I always encourage creativity and improvising. I thoroughly enjoy when my preconceived idea for where the story is headed takes a wild direction. I think pretty fast on my feet and ready for all your weird solutions to the problems you encounter.

How Seth Williams-McNa runs games

I'm very welcoming to new and LGBTQ players (I'm one of those obnoxious B's) always willing to help and remind. I have a no cut scene rule you can interrupt me at any time within reason. I'm Roleplay heavy but combat is still prevalent. I use all official rulings as well as a few homebrew rules but every ruling can be discussed (to a certain degree). I encourage some silliness in my mostly serious campaign. I know my moments and try to find a balance between frodo and samwise, and the stand-up that is merry and pipin. I'm real laid back and will usually say yes to about anything you ask as long as it leans more legolas rather than bugs bunny. I'm very improvisational but find a good line of where I want the story to go and how player agency will effect that, but some sessions I'll chuck the notes to the wind and see where it takes us armed with tables and randomizers. I heavily encourage creativity not only in game, but with your backstory to. This is your moment to make my world your world. You can create whole cities, NPC’s, plot lines and devices all within reason and approved by me. You can always use a location I've created if you'd rather take the simpler route. Overall clear communication is key for a fun and safe game I appreciate you reading this and look forward to GM for your group!
