I absolutely love D&D. While I didn't start playing until the Pandemic back in 2021, I quickly found my place in the hobby and dove right into DM'ing games for my friends. I love the different aspects of the game from combat to social encounters and the way this game can bring total strangers together and tie together strong bonds. All of my current friends I wouldn't have met apart from D&D. I currently run two games for my friends, Phandelver and Below and a homebrew Pirate campaign with all new rules, mechanics and an original storyline; I hope to bring that project to DM's Guild in the near future. I really want to take my love for the game and expertise to you! I think I probably spend too much time prepping my games but that's only because I want to deliver the best possible experience to every single one of my players. I got started GMing...
I got started GM'ing a few years ago when our current DM got busy and we had to put a pause on our main campaign. That was in 2022 and I've been DM'ing ever since! I'm currently running my own home game which has been a blast!
How Sam runs games
My style is very traditional. I love all aspects of the game, everything from social encounters, to combat to exploration. Each of those three pillars are key for a great game! I like to do voice when I can although I'm not a voice actor; it just adds an element of fun. I'm also pretty animated when I play. Sometimes I'll get up and walk around the room or use props if we're playing in person. I want to meet each player where they're at and don't expect the same level of intensity from them that I give at the table. Each person is different, and as a neurodivergent person and a strong introvert, I know the struggles when it comes to table dynamics.
