About S.A.Mannly
My name is Charles, and I have been playing TTRPGs for more than 20 years, and have been a GM for almost as long. I have experience with D&D, Dresden Files and Rifts/Palladium, but I can learn just about any system if needed. I tend to be combat heavy and player friendly, but have been known to provide mystery, political intrigue, and allow my players to spend time just getting to know their characters. Very new-player friendly.

I got started GMing...
I got started GMing in the late 90's, wanting to tell my own stories and help my friends enjoy even more games together. My early years were Old World of Darkness and D&D 2nd edition. It was the early 2000s and D&D 3rd edition where I would gain the most experience.
My favorite books are
I'm a big fan of the Wheel of Time, most anything by Brandon Sanderson, the Dresden Files, and many other sci-fi and fantasy titles. One of my big favorites right now is the Dungeon Crawler Carl series.
How S.A.Mannly runs games
I am a player-friendly GM who tends to focus on tactical combat and challenging encounters. I enjoy creating exciting action and rewarding players who think creatively and work together. At the same time, I also enjoy mystery, political intrigue, exploration, and giving players room to roleplay and develop their characters. I try to take the ideas, backstories, and choices my players give me and reflect them back into the world and story in meaningful ways.

Roland Emmerich. Lots of action and cheer-worthy moments, but good character design and deep stories all the same.
S.A.Mannly's ideal table
My ideal table is relaxed, friendly, and collaborative. I like a game where people can joke, laugh, and enjoy themselves while still engaging with the story and the world. I value cooperative play and players who bring their own character stories, goals, and personality to the table, while also being willing to help weave those elements into a larger shared narrative with the group.

I am for a vibe that's...
I want players to have fun, enjoy each other’s company, and just have a great time telling stories together. Wacky fun, comedy, gritty combat, crazy plans, and over-the-top moments all have a place at my table. Have fun, make memories, and create the kinds of moments that make everyone cheer and lau
My table is not the place for...
My table is not the place for players who are only interested in creating conflict within the party or refusing to engage with the game, setting, or group as presented. Cooperative storytelling and party involvement are important to the experience I try to create.
