How Ross McClure runs games
• Kindness and love towards all! • Immersion oriented, seeking to achieve the feeling of being in the world. • Several “old school” elements, regardless of game. • Roleplaying! (including my own silly and terrible accents) and story • My games often include a lot of game elements such as keeping track of supplies and ammunition, or reputation states with various factions. • Most of my games are about half rules as written, about half rules as cool • I enjoy collaborating with players outside the game about their characters. During a session the player controls the character, I control the world. • Easy going, but firm with rules and rulings without being unkind to ensure a safe game environment. • I don't pull punches and almost never fudge dice rolls. I usually allow the dice to tell the story. • I try to present scenes, material and pacing in a cinematic way, involving the senses in scene descriptions and dramatic narration.
