About Rob Justice

Rob Justice is a software engineer, ex-podcaster, game designer, writer, father, husband, comic book aficionado, pro-wrestling enthusiast, and 3D printing hobbyist. Rob made his mark in the tabletop roleplaying game industry in 2008 when he co-founded The Bear Swarm!, the internet’s first explicit RPG discussion podcast. He continued to captivate audiences with several other podcasts, including BS! Radio, Digging for Diamonds, and The Commute. His journey in game development took off in 2015 when he joined John Wick Presents. Rob co-developed the game Unspeakable with John Wick for Curse of the Yellow Sign and served as a System Designer for 7th Sea: Second Edition. His contributions to 7th Sea include writing for the Pirate Nations and New World sourcebooks and designing one of the first official adventures, The Castle. In 2017, Rob shared his expertise by writing the Running a Horror Game advice section for Party First. That same year, he launched his first card game, Reading the Play. Rob's first full RPG, Murder! Be Thy Name, debuted in 2018. This project was a labor of love, where Rob handled everything from writing to graphic design to art sourcing. Initially created for the band American Murder Song, he later made the game available for print on demand. That same year, Rob introduced a small card game, Gif-Kwando, and in 2019, he released a micro-game, The Lovecraft Social, for free on Imgur. After a hiatus from game development, Rob returned in 2023 with Neonoir's The Run, a roleplaying card game. He also saw the release of "The Safe Zone," a Cortex Prime spotlight he had written back in 2016.

How Rob Justice runs games

As a GM, I focus on creating a collaborative and cooperative environment where every player feels safe and welcomed. I believe that the heart of any great game lies in the characters and their stories. I strive to weave narratives that are rich, engaging, and deeply personal, allowing players to explore their characters' depths and complexities. I thrive on presenting tough choices and moral uncertainty, challenging my players to think engage with the game world. I believe these moments of decision are where characters truly come to life, revealing their strengths, weaknesses, and everything in between. I enjoy crafting sandbox experiences that offer players the freedom to explore and shape the world around them. I provide the framework, but the story unfolds through the players' actions, making each game session a dynamic experience. Ultimately, my goal as a GM is to foster a space where everyone can contribute, collaborate, and have fun. I cherish the moments of shared storytelling, where we build unforgettable adventures together, filled with challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable character arcs.
