About me

Hello there! I am Thomas, a friendly and experienced Game Master with over 13 years of experience as an event facilitator. I focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and sensory-friendly space for everyone to participate in tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) and shared storytelling. I work with a variety of communities, including those who are neurodiverse, have mental health concerns, are part of the LGBTQ+ community, and those with visual impairments. I strive to provide an environment where everyone can feel heard, respected, and encouraged. Over the years, I have partnered with 40+ businesses around the country and have started my own international podcast tour where I discuss TTRPGs and shared storytelling. I am also a content creator, consultant, and educator around TTRPGs and frequently speak at conventions such as Ghengis Con, Tacticon Colorado, and Denver Fan Expo. In addition to my convention appearances, I also teach a variety of TTRPG classes on Skillshare and Outschool. You can trust that my events are of the highest quality, and I promise to give you my best every time. Hello! I am Thomas, your local friendly Neuro Diversity Game Master! GM Style

I am a very kind DM who focuses on person-first gaming. I believe in the power of shared storytelling and love seeing players experience what they want to try. I am a GM who believes in both Battalion style combat, modified initiative, and homebrew rules depending on the battle. I love to create an immersive combat that builds a tense but capable world. I give my characters a wide variety of depth. I also have worked with you and young adults to get them into the game and believe in easing players into the game instead of throwing players into their possible death right away. I am always open to questions.

Thomas was very friendly and open to communication, and I had a nice time chatting with him and the group. He also cares a lot about his players and their comfortability and boundaries. During actual play, his GMing lacked somewhat. His maps seemed pointless as there were no NPC, enemy, or player tokens. Even if he were just using them to help the player imagine the scene, the maps were too blurry to make out anything other than basic shapes and colours. During the entire one shot, I felt like I was being pulled around aimlessly, and never really got a good gist of the story he was trying to tell. The NPCs we encountered were bland, with no real personality, no acting or emotion put behind them and their actions, not even any emphasis on any parts of their speaking. The same tone of voice throughout the entire one shot eventually became grating, and it was difficult to tell the different between him speaking as a GM and him speaking as a character, or even if the vibe of the scene changed at all. The one shot was also incredibly disorganised, as well as his discord server where he puts all of the information. It seems like he had briefly glanced over the rules --- I'm perfectly okay with a GM new to a system needing a bit of time to catch on, but this genuinely seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. The end of the session was confusing to say the least, and didn't really feel like an ending at all; the only reason I knew it was the end was because he directly stated it. Otherwise, I would have never been able to tell. After being dragged through loose plot point by loose plot point, I was at least expecting the one shot to end with a bang, or some big fight or unsolved mystery unravelling as they typically tend to. But nothing happened. We showed up, did some rolls, and the one shot ended. I guess I expected a bit better since the session was delayed for over a month, and the time waiting for it only built up my anticipation for what turned out to be a subpar --- albeit not terrible, one shot. All in all, it was a bit disappointing, but seems appropriate for a free game.

I have played a few games of D&D before, mostly with small groups of friends, and those games tended to not go on for too long. This campaign has been excellent so far, allowing for me and the rest of the group to experience the game and story at our own pace, and allowing for conversation on where we think our characters story is headed. He encourages creativity and is very beginner friendly for those who don't fully know the rules or how to properly play yet, as well as allowing for complex ideas.

Thomas' games are always really relaxing and fun. He loves to work with other players to develop their characters and make sure we're having the most fun playing them possible. Thomas has been great for me as a beginner D&D player and always makes sure everyone feels included :)

We werent really locked to the story we were able to focus on different points of interest and allowed us to have story points with a our characters like i became a vessel for a demon which gave me my warlock powers which became a story point later. So lots of room for creativity

The way our characters all have many creative and different abilities than usual and it all is made to fit in with the story seamlessly, along with characters and story telling it makes it great fun

We have a group of mixed players new and veteran he makes it easy for the new players to get into D&D without making the campign feel "too easy" the veteran players, it is balanced brilliantly, if new players are stuck he will explain the scenario or he will give them a few options to aid in their decision.
