About me

Hello there! I'm Ray (They/He/She), a Queer, disabled/chronically ill TTRPG creative and Game Master! I'm also known as RedMageRay online! I've been a GM for over 8 years and have played and ran various systems during that time. Most often, you'll find me on screen or behind-the-scenes over on Friends Who Roll Dice - A TTRPG channel I co-founded and run with some awesome people, and I've had the pleasure of Gm-ing, playing with, or producing for many fantastic names in the industry. Having seen many tables, working in many systems, and working with many creatives has been a blessing. Now, with that knowledge, I want to offer three kinds of games for people to play in, and have some fun along the way!

GM Style

Above all, I encourage a table of mutual respect and communication. Playing at my table means you treat others how you wish to be treated, and bigotry is not tolerated. Expect a session zero and safety tools, also! I'm a GM that enjoys a focus on narrative. I enjoy encouraging and spurning creativity of players, as well as co-operation, teamwork, and healthy amounts of dramatic stakes where applicable. I also enjoy a bit of mechanical crunch, as long as it does not create an obstruction for the player or others at the table - so, expect some rule-of-cool, too! In short - both crunchy battles and no-dice sessions are equally fun and inspiring. While I love to learn new systems and can Gm in a variety of settings and tones, my strengths lie in Fantasy and Sci-Fi storytelling. Expect developed, diverse NPC's, vivid settings and a blending of genres. For examples, check out some of my work on 'The Mind and the Martyr' at Twitch.Tv/FriendsWhoRollDice , or 'See you, Space Cowboy' at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7ZzKTkrGns&t=11827s
