About me

I love Dungeons and Dragons! My love of fantasy realms comes from my early introduction to Tolkien. Then, it was years before I found the Dragonlance Chronicles. Sturm Brightblade was a sculpting block for my interpretation of heroic virtue. My love of the fantasy world was rekindled in my late twenties when I began collecting books. I fell in love with Tannith Lee's writing style, but her subject matter often led to the darkest interpretations of humanity. I explored many different worlds and characters created by Heinlein, Clarke, Asimov, and many others. In the real world, I am married to my lovely wife, with an 18 year old step-son, two dogs, two cats, and a window treatment business. I had taken a break from Dungeons and Dragons because my group disbanded and I didn't realize there was such a large community for the game. In the past I have run dozens of games as D&D transitioned from 3.5, to 4e, and now to 5e. I have experience running games in person, in text forums, and now I focus on running games online. I have been lucky enough to run a handful of long-term campaigns that were pivotal in fleshing out the character and details of the realm of Gira - the world that I run most of my games in. GM Style

I love playing with new and experienced players alike! My goal is to provide a fun and entertaining game with memorable characters and moments. Giving NPCs unique voices and personalities is a joy to me. Power gamers and min-maxers are welcome at my table, as I do enjoy challenging and tactical combat encounters. However, players with less optimized character builds are welcome and I appreciate having a mixture of combat focused and role playing focused players. I host my games using Roll20, where I provide custom battle maps with dynamic lighting. Players can communicate pre and post session using Discord, where I will host a dedicated channel for the game.
