About Jeff
I've been telling stories since I was a little kid, up to and including role-playing Star Wars, Star Trek, and even a homebrewed Babylon 5 game on IRC in the late 1990s, along with some forays into more structured games like Vampire: the Masquerade. I fell out of the gaming habit until the pandemic when I got together with some friends online and played Shadowrun. We've since moved on to Call of Cthulhu as well as a Vampire: the Masquerade chronicle, while here locally and online I've gotten into D&D 5e over the last couple of years as well. I like telling character-focused stories that are as deep or as silly as the players want them to be. As a player in a campaign/chronicle I like to know that my choices actually matter to the story and impact the story world, and as a GM I'm happiest when my players see how their decisions have impacted the entire narrative going forward.

How Jeff runs games
I'm a huge fan of roleplay and character driven stories. I try to do accents/voices, with a major emphasis there on try as I am by no means a voice actor but I do my best to give each NPC/SPC a unique voice and personality. Combat tends to be more theater of the mind with an emphasis on keeping a good flow to the session rather than getting bogged down in the minutiae of the rules--but if I ever make a call on the fly and look it up later to find that I was wrong, I make sure everyone understands the actual rule going forward to avoid miscommunications. Respect and communication between everyone at the table is key!
