About Rigo
I'm Rigo, from the distant southern lands of Chile. I'm an experienced Pathfinder 2e GM who loves this game way too much. While I'm drawn to crunchy mechanics, I enjoy roleplaying just as much, and firmly believe that these concepts are not opposed to each other, and I hope that my games can reflect that. In my spare time, I work on the game's Foundry implementation as a volunteer, and so I'm very comfortable using it as the medium for my games.

I became a GM because
I love playing a variety of roles, more than playing as a player would allow me to, and I greatly enjoy watching others play their characters. It wasn't long after I discovered the hobby that I felt the itch to GM. I've been scratching that spot ever since, and I'm pretty sure it's infected.
My favorite books are
Mystery novels, such as Sherlock Holmes stories, as well as the works of Agatha Christie, Seishi Yokomizo, and others. Non-fiction books about any topic! Such as Stiff (Mary Roach), Trust Me, I'm Lying (Ryan Holiday), How To Invent Everything (Ryan North). I'm always on the hunt for new books!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Reading, hiking, and working on Foundry stuff!
How Rigo runs games
I enjoy game rules and using them as a medium to tell a story together. When the mechanics of your character and the narrative meld to accomplish something great, those are my favorite moments as a GM. Whether in or out of combat, I love roleplaying and doing dumb voices from time to time, perhaps playing the heel as a monster gets their ass kicked; or taunting the characters at their lowest low so their comeback may be even sweeter. Of course, I also adore tactics and mechanics, and I'm excited when different rules interact to present us with an interesting situation. Right now, I'm enjoying running Pathfinder Adventure Paths. While I try to run things close to their intended story, I can't help myself with adding things along the way to either smooth the story over, or provide the characters with some moments specific to them. And of course, the Foundry premium modules are an amazing help!

I deal with rules issues by...
Discussing them very briefly, and making a ruling. I will make note of the issue and look it up in between sessions. The middle of the game is not the time for lengthy rules debates, or extensive research, so my interest is always in keeping things moving, for the sake of everybody at the table.
My favorite trope is...
an underdog prevailing in the end and defeating the bad guy, especially if they stood up after getting back up! I'm a sucker for heroics, and that's what I aim to enable in my games.
Rules are...
Fun! I appreciate the creativity that comes forth from utilizing the system to its fullest extent. I endeavor to be knowledgeable about the rules so players can lean on me for help, and so I can know when to break them or play looser with them for the sake of keeping things fun.
Rigo's ideal table
My table can be a little silly sometimes, as I enjoy having a laugh. However, I know when to flip the switch into a serious scene, or into something that deserves more careful handling. Any player who enjoys friendly banter, and a good mix of both tactical gameplay and roleplaying, should feel at home at this table.

I am for a vibe that's...
Sometimes a bit silly, sometimes serious business, but always friendly and welcoming.
I love it when a player
Is invested in the fun of the others as much as in their own. When players work together to elevate each other in a roleplaying scene or in a combat encounter (even both at the same time!), that is my favorite type of table to GM for.
I think metagaming...
is fine to an extent. For example, players should feel free to discuss tactics with each other in combat, or try to translate narrative information they obtain into game mechanics. This is different from just cheating, such as looking up statblocks or reading the adventure you're playing in.
