About Orion
Hi! I’m a GM who simply loves telling stories and creating unforgettable experiences at the table. At the end of the day, I run games because I genuinely enjoy playing with others, crafting worlds together, and watching a group build something unique that could never exist anywhere else. I started my TTRPG journey about six years ago during college, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Over the years I’ve played and run a wide variety of systems, including D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Cyberpunk RED, the Cosmere RPG, Triangle Agency, and several homebrew and niche games. Exploring different systems has helped me develop a flexible style that adapts to the needs of each group rather than forcing players into a single “right” way to play. My biggest priority as a GM is creating a space where everyone feels comfortable, respected, and free to express themselves both in and out of character. I care deeply about making sure players feel safe, heard, and that they’re having fun. If you enjoy character-driven storytelling, meaningful choices, collaborative worldbuilding, and a GM who genuinely wants to help create a memorable experience tailored to the table, you’ll probably feel right at home in my games.

My favorite books are
The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan, The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, and the Reckoners series, also by Brandon Sanderson.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Usually playing video games, working at my retail job, preparing for law school, or getting ready for my next adventure behind the GM screen.
How Orion runs games
When it comes to my GMing style, I strongly focus on player characters and the agency they have within the world. I believe the story should grow around the players, not the other way around. Even when running structured Adventure Paths, I put a lot of effort into weaving character backstories, personal arcs, and player choices into the narrative so that your group’s version of the story feels truly your own. The main plot beats may be by the book, but how you get there will be shaped by you. That said, I absolutely do not take it easy when it comes to combat. I often go beyond what’s written: adjusting encounters, editing existing creatures, or even creating fully custom statblocks tailored specifically to the party. My goal is to deliver fights that feel challenging, dynamic, and memorable without ever crossing into unfair territory. When you win, it should feel earned and satisfying. While I respect the rules and run systems as intended, I also firmly believe in the “Rule of Cool.” Flavor is always free. If you want to reskin abilities, change aesthetics, or add thematic flair without altering mechanics, I fully encourage it. And if you come up with an off-the-wall idea or creative plan, I’ll always do my best to work with you to make it possible within the game’s framework. Some of the most memorable moments come from players taking bold, unexpected approaches, and I love helping bring those ideas to life.

I deal with rules issues by...
Making quick rulings during the session to keep the game flowing, then revisiting them afterward if needed. I’m always open to discussion outside of play, but in the moment my priority is maintaining pacing and ensuring everyone can continue enjoying the game.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
A mix of Guillermo del Toro for atmosphere and emotional storytelling, Denis Villeneuve for tone and weighty themes, and Peter Jackson for character-driven epic adventures.
Rules are...
A framework that keep the game fair and consistent, but they’re not meant to get in the way of fun. I follow them closely, but I also believe in the Rule of Cool: if something is creative, flavorful, and enhances the story without breaking the game, I’m always open to it.
Orion's ideal table
My table is collaborative, character-driven, and story-focused. The general vibe is relaxed and welcoming, but also emotionally invested. Players are encouraged to immerse themselves in their characters, explore relationships, and treat the world as something that reacts meaningfully to their choices. While we still enjoy humor and lighter moments, the overall tone leans toward thoughtful storytelling rather than chaotic or purely mechanical play. Players who fit best at my table are those who enjoy roleplay, teamwork, and engaging with the narrative beyond combat alone. If you like developing your character’s personality, making meaningful decisions, exploring moral dilemmas, and contributing to a shared story with other players, you’ll feel right at home here. Players seeking a pure power fantasy or highly competitive, optimization-focused gameplay may find the experience less aligned with their expectations (even though I do support that style of game partially). Above all, the goal of my table is to create a comfortable space where everyone can have fun, express themselves, and build a unique story together that could never be recreated with any other group.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
If you’re into character-driven storytelling, meaningful choices, immersive roleplay, and combats that challenge both your tactics and your morals, you’re going to love my table.
I love it when a player
Fully leans into their character, making decisions based on personality, values, and emotions rather than just mechanics. It’s especially rewarding when players engage with the world around them: forming relationships with NPCs, reacting thoughtfully to events, and help shape the story.
I think min/maxing...
Is completely valid. Optimizing a character can be a fun part of the game and many players enjoy mastering the mechanics. As long as it doesn’t come at the expense of teamwork, storytelling, or the enjoyment of others at the table, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with building a powerful character.
