About DM Mike

Played my first DnD game in an empty classroom at lunch in 1978 and was hooked. Began DMing in 1980 and have done so ever since, playing through every iteration of the game until coming to rest on 5E. Like many during the pandemic, my games moved online, and, while I'm a fan of in person, it allowed for more reach. And here I am, looking to expand beyond my home game to do something on my nights off. I have my own world that has been in development since the 80s which all my players have shaped and added to and helped define. Here, I will generally stick to published adventures. I'm inviting you to come explore the greatest game ever made regardless of your experience level with me.

How DM Mike runs games

I tend to run narrative driven games in which the PCs do what they do and reap the consequences of what they do. I have had entire sessions (4 or more hours) with players discussing how to deal with a wall as well as epic battles that last through more than one. Games range through many themes, some dark and brutal, others more lighthearted, and may not be suitable for all audiences. PCs generally decide comfort levels, but I have hard boundaries around graphic content. I go where the players go. I love it when players play in character and am fine if they do not, as long as metagaming is kept to an absolute minimum.
