About Nathan
Hey there! I'm Nate. I'm a GM with eight years of experience running home games and two years running public games and events. I love fantasy genres, be it medieval, steampunk or modern urban; I've ran plenty of D&D games, and over the last few years I've broken into World of Darkness, Symbaroum, and Fate. But beyond anything else, I love it when, at the end of the session, everyone's had plenty of fun. I tailor my adventures to each group in order to provide them with the entertainment that best suits them. After a friend introduced me to 3.5e, I was immediately hooked. My friends and I wanted to play, and I was the one that was always thinking up worlds and stories, so I slotted naturally into the DM role. Haven't stopped since!
How Nathan runs games
I adapt my GMing style to my players- Whether you enjoy a tense dungeon crawl, a gauntlet of enemies and traps, intrigue and mystery or a straight fantasy tale of heroics and villainy, I do my best to align with the party. However, I'm at my best and most comfortable with character-driven stories and plenty of opportunity for interaction between player characters, the world itself, and those who inhabit it. I carefully choose maps and setpieces, and use music, ambiance and voicework in order to draw out the story we can tell together.
