About me
Hello! My name is Reza, I've been running a consistent weekly D&D 5e campaign since 2021. I fell in love with D&D during Covid, and never looked back. We started with 4 players, and 2 more joined us over the years, and the game has collectively been the best story I've ever experienced. I love the arts, specifically acting/voice-acting, and writing. So D&D came rather quickly and naturally to me. I tend to stick with original worlds and settings, as it gives both the DM and the players enough freedom to collaboratively create something together. I'm always open for discussions on any topic about the story, game, experience, etc. and I don't shy away from communication (it is key, as we all know.) I care a lot about personal character moments and development in my games, and usually try to immerse the players and their characters into the story and setting as much as possible, so whatever story is told feels important, high-stake and natural. My games are usually ran online, in Discord, and using Owlbear Rodeo for battle maps and tokens. Pretty simple stuff. Though I have ran in-person games as well, which have been incredibly fun, but of course rare due to scheduling issues (the bane of D&D). The focus is usually on the story, but depending on player preferences, I have no problems going combat-heavy, or combat-light for games. I'm open to discuss any kind of game or story, as at their core, TTRPGs are about collaboration. So feel free to hit me up. i ran out of words
GM Style
My style is quite flexible depending on the game or story, but at its base, it tends to be cinematic, as I think cinematically when writing a story. It's story-driven, because the best experiences I've had with TTRPGs have been those special story moments (not that rolling dice and critting with a 5th level Divine Smite and a bunch of other crap isn't fun, especially for me, the DM). My home-game has been very long-term and slow-burn, though very exciting with different arcs and twists and reveals , but I have successfully ran shorter stories as well.. I care a lot about the narrative, if you couldn't tell. Though I want player choices to matter as much as possible. We all want to feel like the things we do in a story matter, and have consequences, good or bad. Usually in a single campaign, I tend to cover a lot of different genres of story-telling. Anything from high-fantasy, to sci-fi, steampunk, cyberpunk, horror, crime, thriller, mystery, Lovecraftian, etc. But not in a chaotic and disconnected way. In fact, in an interconnected way that makes sense, and creates a world one can get immersed in. Plus, what genres of storytelling I use also tends to depend on what kinds of characters my players create. Speaking of worlds, I create mine to a certain degree, and through player collaboration, shape parts of it as needed. You create the hell you live in-- I mean, the world you play in, to a certain extent. In 3 and a half years, I've managed to create my own style, which has brought me many fond memories. And now, I want to share it with many others.
