About Mizu Leo
My name is Leo and I'm a fairly new GM (started just this March). My first TTRPG experience was Baldur's Gate 3. I've always loved Create Your Own Adventure (CYOA) types of games, and BG3 was just the perfect game for me. Experiencing D&D through that made me want to host my own game with my friends. After several weeks of worldbuilding my own homebrew campaign, I was able to get 3 friends in the game and they loved it as much as I do. Experiencing this, I've tried GM'ing some more with online friends and they were also successful! Now that I found out that I love creating adventures and playing with enthusiastic people like me, I've decided to try GM'ing for people that I don't know, and hopefully get paid to some. I was told by some of the GMs I tried playing one-shots in that it's easier to find engaged and dedicated players if it's a paid session, so I've made up my mind and created a GM account here in StartPlaying! Thanks for reading and I'll see you in one of my tables!

I became a GM because
I wanted to play TTRPGs after playing Baldur's Gate 3. However, I wasn't comfortable yet during that time playing with other people while being clueless with TTRPGs, so I decided to learn via GM'ing. Turns out, I have a knack for it.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Engaging. Exciting. Enthusiastic. They love them E's.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Playing Pickleball, fishing, worldbuilding my homebrewed world Alronde, and real life-ing lol
How Mizu Leo runs games
I love roleplaying. I almost always give personality to each of my NPCs, even the enemies. I like doing tactical, high-stakes combat that makes my player think of how to overcome it through smart plays or whacky shenanigans. Also, I like to keep note of most of the things my players talk about, may it be important or idle, and use it in the next sessions, giving them a surprise that they most of the time love. As I try to say myself: Players Happy, Session Dandy.

My games focus on...
fun, interconnected & interweaving stories, and table enjoyment.
Rules are...
second only to a cool narrative opportunity. Rule of Cool first, then mechanics next.
When it comes to voices
I try to add a unique one for important NPCs, Adversaries, and common reoccurring characters. I also do voices for the common folks and enemies, though they are more generalized or sound the same (bandits of a camp, russian dwarves, etc.)
Mizu Leo's ideal table
I want my table to be a fun and collaborative group where everybody can freely roleplay and express their characters as much as they want. The vibe will be mostly carefree and fun, but there will still be moments where everybody needs to be serious. I like mixing genres a lot, so I'm not bound to one type (though I do stick to one major genre as much as possible).

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Roleplaying, making voices, and possibly Improv-ing (I got no experience in this department professionally though lol)
I love it when a player
roleplays and is not afraid to make mistakes.
I think metagaming...
kills the vibe of roleplaying. As much as possible, I'd like my players to deal with a situation by thinking how their characters would think, not read what their cards or sheets say. Then we'll just figure out what's the best thing to apply based on that.
