About MGLife
It's me! That's right, the creature lurking in your walls! I'm MG and I'm an avid TTRPG player and have many years of DM experience, on and off, mostly with DnD and Pathfinder 2e. I know the PF2E rules quite well and have used Roll20 extensively, but recently I've switched to Foundry. My games are run in English and I welcome any and all adult players, from brand new players to system veterans. I live in Asia and work during the day so my timezone is not as compatible with much of the English-speaking world. My games may be difficult to attend for NA/EU players on a normal daytime schedule, but more convenient for Australians, or other expats. Hit me up on discord! magnesiumlifeform

How MGLife runs games
I've always considered good DMing to be about having a balanced style that suits the party. A good mix of roleplay and combat, of rules-lawyering and 'letting things slide', seriousness and light-hearted humor; that's the balance I strive for in every game I run. I do lean towards roleplay; I will seldom have a session without some kind of combat, but I will -never- have a session without some kind of roleplay. I generally don't run megadungeon campaigns. One thing is for sure, I love to tell my own stories. Most of my games in the past have been campaigns fully written by me. I haven't run too many premade adventures, but whenever I do, I often make changes to suit my tastes (or that of my players, if I know them well), sometimes significant ones. I get easily inspired to write my own tales, and get very excited to tell them. I can only hope my players are as excited to experience them. I've run DnD and Pathfinder 2e games with entirely new players as well as experienced players, and so I'm familiar with adjusting combat encounters to suit the party. I also try to avoid 'filler' encounters as much as I can, and you can count on every combat having at least some narrative function in my games.
MGLife's ideal table
My games are not too different than any other game you might play. I generally just try to remind players that in my games, roleplay is a requirement, and I will be attempting to balance sessions between combat and roleplay. I don't inject a lot of humor into my games, as I firmly believe that players are the best at initiating humor at the table. There's always a lot of laughs to be had at any game I run, and it's never because of me, it's always the players getting up to funny shenanigans. But at the same time, I do take the roleplay and worldbuilding in my games seriously, so I don't appreciate 'joke characters' or characters making excessively absurd and harmful decisions just for the sake of a joke.

I love it when a player
creates a character that feels real, complete with realistic motivations, personality flaws, and a decent backstory. Where the focus isn't just on the race, or the class, or whatever tropes they might embody, but on something that makes the character unique.
