About GM Matt Dye
Greetings Adventurers! I've been GMing and playing Pathfinder and DnD sessions for about 10 years now, 6 of which almost exclusively as a Game Master. I've been playing since Pathfinder 1e and the start of Pathfinder 2e. I have played Pathfinder 2e since beta and is my game system of choice, with complete knowledge of the system in and out. I am passionate about my role as a GM, and is why I try to provide the best experience possible! This involves a wonderful Discord community, music, a modified Foundry VTT-based experience, easy sheet keeping/character generation, along with thorough and purposeful storytelling that acts and reacts with characters and their actions. The player and group story always comes first, and I am looking forward to bringing that experience to you!

I became a GM because
I have, since I was young, always favored RPG's as my genre of choice. TTRPG's provide that ultimate RPG experience; WE create the story! I thoroughly enjoy coming to the table every session not knowing what craziness lies before us, but I'm here for every moment of it!
My favorite books are
Everything Tolkien, the Heir series, the Demon-Haunted World
When I'm not running games I'm...
Being a dad and husband, working as a Water Treatment Plant Operator, and trying to squeeze time in for myself!
How GM Matt Dye runs games
It's the story we all tell together that pulls me in. I like to focus my GM style on balancing the pillars of TTRPG play, while also being able to rapidly adapt to feedback. This is done to better tailor an experience to the group's style of play, and I react on the fly to help facilitate this.

I deal with rules issues by...
Using intuition and experience, in tandem with talking it out real quick! 90% of the time it is resolved quickly, anything outside of that we'll rule something on the fly to keep things moving, and handle the rest after session time if needed.
Rules are...
A tool of guidance, not dictation. Ultimately, the focus on fun and creativity takes heed before all else. Rules themselves can be fun of course, and really help provide a smooth TTRPG experience, but as with everything, balance is crucial to get the most out of them.
When it comes to voices
There are no holds barred. Be prepared. I love improv and will, on more than one occasion, peak my microphone.
GM Matt Dye's ideal table
My ideal table is one that feels like a free stream of consciousness. One where you can get into character, focus on what's ahead, and get away from the world for a few hours! Promoting a welcoming atmosphere, being goofy and having fun, and cinching down when it matters most, are aspects I tend to focus on. The overall table environment I try and foster is one where we all look forward to come and play at every week. The overall health and sustainability of a table is of top priority to me.

I am for a vibe that's...
Laid back, non-judgmental, welcoming, fun, crunchy when needed, and most importantly... healthy in the long-term!
I love it when a player
Really locks into their character's RP; emphasis includes during combat! Spouting quips at the enemy, describing their actions, and quickly interacting with their allies are examples of this. As well, I pride myself on my consistency as a Gamemaster, and I love it when players are consistent.
My perfect party mix is
Fighter, Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, Ranger. An oldie, but a goodie.
