About Mastor Mateo
I'm an RPG creative writer, video editor, and fantasy enthusiast with a BA in Creative Writing. Creating amazing stories with people from around the world is a dream life I love waking up to and giving my all for. This reason is why I always strive to give you the best storytelling experience you deserve. I've played DnD 5e since High School and have both played and run several campaigns throughout my time. I've seen both the worst and the best experiences of this phenomenal game to be able to understand how to create a story that turns you into the hero, or villain, you deserve to be. I run my campaigns by following 5e rules and have a few homebrew tweaks up my sleeve to amplify the storytelling experience for you. You do have to be comfortable having at least your voice heard by a larger audience as I do stream our sessions on Youtube before posting them. This is because I've had a few of my players wanting to rewatch some of the sessions we do for later. So, what are you waiting for!? Get in contact and let's turn you into the hero!

How Mastor Mateo runs games
Visuals - I stream our sessions for Youtube as I've had players request to rewatch the sessions afterward. Don't worry about showing your face as we'll be using Discord. You will still need a Mic to play though and have to be comfortable with your voice being heard by a larger audience. Sound- I have a Spotify playlist I use for moments of adventuring, downtime, combat, etc. Also be comfortable with weird voices and sounds I use for my characters that I picked up from my theater class in college! Player Agency - It's important that players know that their choices matter. The game environment will change and react to the player's actions from minute to minute, and session to session. What You Need- Your body, your voice, a microphone, Discord, FoundryVTT. If you want to use D&D Beyond or real dice be my guest as well! Battlemaps - I use FoundryVTT for all of my battle maps, characters, and scenes. Don't worry if you don't know what FoundryVTT is I will help you set it up and learn some of the basics prior to the session. Rules Were Made to Be Broken - I follow 5e rules but love giving your character inspiration points to creative and improvised actions. If you want to bend the rules and try something crazy let me know and we'll see if we can make it work, as long as the dice allow it as well! Having fun - Remember that this is a game and we're here to have fun. Nothing I or the other players do is personal. This doesn't mean I am not open to criticism though as I love seeing what else I could be doing better to turn you into the hero you deserve to be!
