About Moka of Many Things
I'm a nerdy fellow from the middle of nowhere! I grew up in a family that has been in the TTRPG space ever since 1E. (everyone in my immediate family except for my mother played D&D) and it has been a continued passion of mine since I was in middle school. I've been running games for my friends for a while. (I was a Forever DM until recently when one of my players decided to give DMing a shot, I helped him by giving some advice during his prep.)

I became a GM because
Me and my friends wanted to play and no one else wanted run it, now I got stuck in the GM chair and fell in love with it.
My favorite system of all Time is
Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition (not to be confused with 5.5)
People are always surprised when I tell them
"You find a small pouch with a Deck of cards inside"
How Moka of Many Things runs games
I like to run roleplay heavy games with a sprinkling of semi-tactical combat, the one pillar of gameplay I don't lean into is exploration, I do try to put some of that into my games, but it isn't my strong suit. my uniqueness in my games is my love of randomness, why use standard array/point buy when fate can decide my stats for me? and I like to use things like the Deck of Many Things in my games because it adds some of that randomness for me. (but I'd only add it with HEAVY prep)

I deal with rules issues by...
making a temporary ruling in the moment, then reviewing the rule after the session and correcting as needed.
I prep by
reading through any materials I have pertaining to the adventure, reading through all abilities of the party, and talking to myself for voices.
Rules are...
valuable but should be bent should it be more fun that way.
Moka of Many Things's ideal table
I try to make my games nice and casual feeling, and wanting to just leave reality behind for a few hours, to forget who we are and become the creatures of our dreams, to live out our fantasies and enjoy ourselves. and maybe embrace the tides of chaos from time to time.

I am for a vibe that's...
friendly and casual, we're all here to have fun after all.
I love it when a player
makes mechanical decisions based off of how their character would behave. like skipping a round of combat due to their character being scared of what they're fighting.
I think metagaming...
is unavoidable but should be kept at a minimum.
