About Lukin

Heya, my name is Lukin (It's actually Gabriel but don't tell anyone), I am 20 years old and I've been playing TTRPGs for the better part of 8 years, more recently however (like 4 years ago, which isn't recent at all but I digress), I've decided to don the sacred mantles of the GM... and never managed to take them off again, don't worry thought, they're really comfy.

I became a GM because

I always wanted to try it out, the idea of coming up with my own challenges and stories was always intriguing for me, and as it turns out, I really enjoyed it

I got started GMing...

When I needed to step up to help a friend who needed to take a break, so I assumed the mantle for the group, and after that first taste... I never took it off

My favorite system of all Time is

Pathfinder 2e, I love the freedom and customization that this system offers to Players and GMs alike, not to mention that Golarion has got to be one of the best settings out there. And to top it all off, Paizo has shown themselves to be an amazing company over and over again.

How Lukin runs games

I am combat lover through and through, I love to create engaging and difficult fights made to test players limits and encourage them to think outside the box, using every tool in their arsenal and some chaotic creativity to face the dangers of the world and come out on top. But do not think that this means that I shall shy away from engaging in roleplay, for we all know a good game must have a healthy balance of both.

I prep by

Analyzing the flow of the game, both in roleplay and combat, making sure to change and balance things around to ensure my players are enjoying the experience as a whole.

Rules are...

The guidelines used to ensure a balanced game and storytelling, it's a good idea to stick by them unless it becomes a detriment to enjoyment of the game, in which case they should bent.

Lukin's ideal table

My games have a lot of focus on combats, where my main focus is to try and help the players explore the limits of their characters by exploring all the tools available and rewarding creativity. I'll always strive to make my worlds feel alive with roleplay and storytelling, making sure to include characters backstory as a way to engage the players and make sure they have a reason and motivation to push themselves to the limit.

I love it when a player

Makes a character that uses unusual tactics and obscure mechanics to excel in challenges given to them, I love seeing my players get creative when it comes to overcoming the challenges I provide for them.

My perfect party mix is

A group that can both bounce off and challenge each other to push the story forward, a party that has good synergy is a recipe for success.

My table is not the place for...

Player vs GM mentality, despite being the one providing the challenges, my job as a GM is to work with the party to create a good story, not against them.
