About Luke O
I'm a long-time GM with a lot of experience teaching players new systems. My home game has bounced around systems a lot but eventually landed on Cyberpunk Red. Not surprising given my obsession with the sci-fi subgenre. As far as TTRPGs are concerned, I am a big believer in buy-in roleplay; players should only have to "act" as far as they are comfortable. My games emphasize problem-solving using your character's skills, the world and that mushy stuff between your ears. When I am not running TTRPGs I am an engineer; a knowledge set I bring to the table. Many of the tools I use are fairly cyberpunk too; from the fact that I run Linux to the scripts I use to generate things on the fly. It is a genre that I am deeply familiar with in a way I think many GMs are not (though that is likely my ego talking). I also run Dungeon Crawl Classics and its derivatives as I have found it to be very good for introducing new players to TTRPGs, and one of my other little obsessions is D&D's Appendix N. That older school of fantasy before the rigid lines of today is endlessly fascinating. However, I am struggling to get anyone to play that with me on this site.

I got started GMing...
because my friend got tired of it and I wanted to play. Since then I have been addicted to bringing new stuff to the table every time I play, whether that's a new adventure or even a whole new system.
My favorite shows/movies are
Bladerunner and the sequel 2049 Ghost in the Shell Akira Conan the Barbarian Gundam (mostly the UC stuff) Delicious in Dungeon
How Luke O runs games
I emphasize problem-solving. Roleplay in the sense that you understand your character's capabilities and the world, and can use them to your advantage; acting as your character would. As far as roleplay as acting is concerned I believe in player buy-in. Do what make you feel comfortable. I like tactical combat but I try to keep it short and punchy. Limited to a few important tactical decisions in a fun environment rather than a long crunchy slog.

I deal with rules issues by...
making a decision in the moment that seems plausible and looking it up after the session. The main goal is to keep the game moving.
My games focus on...
